Beaches in Rosarito can be wonderful ways to relax and unwind. This Mexican resort town is the perfect place to go for a weekend getaway or a longer vacation. Beaches in Rosarito are typically located on an oceanfront portion of the town. They are the main recreational, dining, and socializing areas. These beaches can be crowded at times, but they are worth the traffic. Here are some of the more popular beaches in Rosarito that are worth visiting.
Playa Blanca south end: Located on a very small sandy strip, the Playa Blanca is the most laid-back and secluded of all the beaches in Rosarito. It is where most families visit during the summer to cool down after the sun and surf. While it is not very long, the beaches at this end of town can be crowded during peak season. The north end of the Playa Blanca is much less crowded.
Sunio beach club: While this is not included in the list of most popular beaches in Rosarito, it is definitely worth a visit. Located on Campello beach, the Sunio beach club features three swimming pools, several bars, and delicious Mexican food. It also features a stage where popular bands perform and there are usually outdoor games like volleyball. There is also a family karaoke night each week.
La Vida de Arenal (The Vineyard): This is probably the most famous beach in Rosarito. This quaint little community is only accessible by boat or bicycle. While there are not many tourists on the beaches here, you will find a great selection of restaurants and shops that cater to the Hispanic market. There are also some wonderful seafood restaurants that feature the best New Mexico seafood.
Punta Umbria Beach: Located north of Puerto Morelos, this is not a beach you will want to pass up. Although Punta Umbria Beach has been closed to swimming for the past couple of years, it is now opening again. However, you may need to reserve your beach tickets well in advance to get a good spot. In fact, if you happen to arrive on a weekday, the line might be too long. However, this is definitely worth a drive north from the hotel because of the amazing views of the bay.
Puerto Morelos/Puerto Cartagena Beach: This is another set of fantastic beaches on the northern part of the island. The northern part of the island has fewer tourists, so you will find some of the most unusual and beautiful beaches here. Because Puerto Morelos is so remote, the white sand beaches are extremely rare. Many of the other beaches along the North Coast are very crowded, so make sure you get your reservations in advance to avoid the headaches that can come with lines.
